| Description | This volume was made for the metropolitical visitation of Archbishop George Abbot. It gives the names of the clergy, both incumbents and curates, arranged by deanery and parish, with details of their ordinations, licences, etc. The headings were evidently made beforehand, with spaces for the actual entries which are in a different hand. Besides parishes in the bishop's jurisdiction it includes cathedral dignitaries and officials, and parishes in the peculiars. At the end are eight pages of office causes, all relating to Berkshire. |
