TitleCurates' nominations
Description
At this period full sets of ordination papers were required, including a letter of nomination and clerical testimonials. With the passage of an Act of 53 Geo. III, nominating letters had to contain a declaration of adequate living for the nominee and his salary; the value of the parish; and the distances he must travel in his work. Curates' nominations were abolished in 1977.
